We Handle the Artwork Side Too
Most print shops just take your file and run it. If the file isn't right, your order gets held up or the result is off. At Personal Graphics, our in-house design team is part of every order. We review artwork before production begins, flag anything that needs attention, and handle corrections or builds as needed — so your final product looks the way it should.
Whether you have a finished logo ready to go or nothing more than a napkin sketch, we can work with what you have.
What We Handle
File Cleanup & Print-Ready Prep
The most common artwork task. Your logo exists but it's a low-resolution JPG, a screenshot, or a file that wasn't built for print. We clean it up, rebuild it as a vector if needed, and optimize it for the decoration method being used — screen printing, embroidery, vinyl, laser engraving, or DTF. This is the most common task and is often covered within the included time on your order.
Logo Vectorization
Embroidery, screen printing, vinyl, and laser engraving all require vector files with clean paths. If your logo only exists as a raster image (JPG, PNG, low-res PDF), we convert it to a proper vector file. Simple logos are typically fast. Complex or highly detailed logos take longer and are billed at the standard design rate.
Logo Recreation
Your logo was designed by someone else years ago and you no longer have the original files — or the original files were never built correctly. We rebuild it from scratch as a clean, professional vector file that works across all print methods and future uses. Quoted based on complexity.
Custom Artwork & Graphic Design
Need something designed from the ground up? Event graphics, apparel designs, uniform layouts, custom illustrations, or promotional artwork — our team handles it. We work from your brief, reference images, or direction and build something original. Design work is quoted up front so you know what to expect before we begin.
Digitization for Embroidery
Embroidery requires a stitch file — a specialized file format that tells the machine exactly how to recreate your design in thread. This is separate from your logo file. We handle all digitization in-house. See our Embroidery service page for digitization pricing by size.
What's Included vs. What's Billed
Included With Your Order
The first 20 minutes of design work are included at no charge with every print order. This covers most minor adjustments — resizing, color changes, format conversions, small cleanups. If your file is close to print-ready, there's typically nothing extra to pay.
Billed Design Work
Anything beyond minor adjustments is billed at $55 per hour with a $17.50 minimum. This includes logo vectorization from a complex raster file, full logo recreation, custom artwork builds, and digitization for embroidery. We always communicate the estimated time before we begin — no surprise invoices.
File Formats We Work With
What We Prefer to Receive
- Vector files: .ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg — these are ideal for any print method
- High-resolution PNG with transparent background (300 DPI minimum at print size)
What We Can Work With
- Low-resolution JPG or PNG — we can assess and advise on what's needed
- PDF files (quality varies — we'll check on our end)
- Screenshots or web-pulled images — these typically require recreation, not cleanup
If you're not sure what you have, send it. Our team will let you know what state it's in and what (if anything) needs to be done before production.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have a logo before I place an order?
No. If you need a logo or artwork created, we can build it. Just let us know what you have in mind when you submit your project request and we'll include design work in your quote.
My logo is just a JPG — will that work?
It depends on the quality and the print method. For DTF and sublimation, a high-resolution JPG can sometimes work. For screen printing, vinyl, embroidery, and laser engraving, vector files are required. If you only have a JPG, we'll assess it and let you know whether it can be used as-is or needs to be rebuilt.
How do I know how much design work will cost before I commit?
We estimate the time required and communicate it before we start. You'll always know what to expect. We don't run the clock without telling you.
Can I supply a Canva file or Google Doc?
Export your Canva design as a PDF (print quality) or PNG at the highest resolution available. That gives us the best starting point. Native Canva files can't be opened directly, but exported versions usually work for review.
Do you keep my files on record for future orders?
Yes. Once your artwork is print-ready, we keep it on file. Future orders using the same design won't require a new setup or design fee.
